Cml 0.04 has been released


CML 0.04 has been released !

 

This is possibly the biggest update the game received until this point, many changes were made to the code that will allow adding content to be easier and more efficient. Another important aspect of the update is new tileset, made by me, this should clear any legal issues that may arise from using a tileset that i do not own and makes it possible to change it as I please. below are a list of features added by this update:


  • As previously mentioned, the game has a new tileset. The tileset is based on code page 437, like the previous, however, the tileset has enough space to fit more characters, approximately 1024, along graphical tiles.
  • Seed base generation has been added, you can input our own seeds or use the randomly generated ones.
  • Caves have added tot the level generation. They will be  generated  instead of a regular level, and are composed of large single area, with monsters and loot scattered about, cave salso come in variations, including two "pasture" versions.
  •  Optimizations were made to the code, allowing the game to run far better even with a large amount of objects on screen.
  • The game scripts have began to be split into separate files,  which has helped far more than I originally thought.
  • Added the option to disable sfx.
  • Added gemstones, valuable items that come in different types, sizes, and cuts. More types are to be added in the future.
  • Added icons for items in the inventory, allowing to easily identify the type of the item.
  • Added icons for spells, similar to the above.
  • Dimmed the colors of walls a bit.
